Dermaroller Homecare

The Dermaroller is an original concept that is German designed and patented device. Its efficiency has been proven by scientific and clinical findings for anti-ageing, skin regeneration improvement and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

The Dermaroller is the ONLY skin needling device listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a medical device (Class IIa).

The Dermaroller can be performed as a home care treatment for deeper infusion of skincare ingredients, or as a medical treatment for collagen stimulation, reduction of acne scarring or hair loss. All medical treatments need to be performed by a qualified and trained Dermaroller clinician under sterile and hygenic conditions to avoid unnecessary complications.

The Dermaroller homecare is like a small paint-roller with fine needles. On the surface of the roller, 24 circular arrays of 8 needles each (total 192 needles) are found, with a fine needle length of only 0.2mm (The needles are short enough that they will not draw blood and the process is entirely painless). As the stratum corneum is very fine, the size is of the needles is more than enough to pierce the skin and allow a path way for active ingredients. Medical Dermaroller treatments use longer needles and therefore should be performed by a qualified Dermaroller clinician.

The Stratum Corneum is the natural protective layer. however rolling the Dermaroller on the skin surface creates micro-channels into the stratum corneum. These channels will allow any kind of substance applied on the skin, to gain access to the deeper and viable skin layers. We call this a micro channel delivery system. The micro-channels close over within a few hours.

Transdermal Delivery
Dermaroller will enhance the penetration of any skincare ingredient. 200 times more product delivery, dramatically giving value & results to your skincare regime.

There is clear evidence outlining a change in the skin’s cell stimulation if the Dermaroller is used regularly (up to 4 times per week). Use with active ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins, Minerals & Peptides can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and improve tone.

  • Increase epidermal thickness
  • Reduction of enlarged pores
  • Re-vascularisation / skin stimulation
  • Sebaceous-gland (oil flow) regulation
  • Treatment of pigmentation
  • Transdermal delivery system
  • The process is entirely painless
  • No damage to the skin
  • It can be used on thin, sensitive skins
  • Does not make the skin sun-sensitive
  • Lasts 6 months if used 4 times per week

Transdermal Delivery
Our skin is not only the biggest organ, but it also protects the body against environmental influences such as temperatures, bacteria, excessive water loss, etc. Skin increases in thickness until the age of 20 and stays constant for about 40 years. After 60 the skin degrades. The normal average human skin has a thickness of 1.5 mm and is categorized in 3 major zones: Epidermis, (0.12 mm) dermis and sub-dermis (1.5 mm).

The Epidermis has 5 layers in total; the top layer is called the Stratum Corneum. Its thickness is about a hundredth of a millimetre, and it is hard to believe that this thin layer is the main barrier and protection for our body. The Stratum Corneum is constantly reproduced by the lower epidermal layers. It is so effective that nearly nothing can penetrate it.

So what percentage of your skincare regime actually penetrates into viable layers where the active ingredient can stimulate the skin?
100% 50% 30% 10% 3% 1%
Depending on the ‘delivery system’ used in the formulation, the penetration can vary from each skincare brand to the next. Generic, no name brands probably have less than 1% penetration -clinical cosmeceutical brands probably have closer to 30%… but there is still a 70% waste of each application.

The Dermaroller is clinically proven to drive active ingredients deeper into the skin, by a manual delivery system. It will enhance penetration of any ingredient with 200 times more delivery, dramatically giving value and additional results to any skincare regime.
